University of Houston Science Teaching Lab

This 105,000-square-foot addition expands instructional capacity for chemistry and biology while reserving 24,000 square feet of shell space for future research. Teaching labs were designed for flexibility, safety, and student engagement, supporting both individual and collaborative learning.
Each lab accommodates 24 students in groups of eight across three bench stations, with clear sightlines to demonstration benches, whiteboards, and projection screens. Configurations allow for lectures, pre-lab instruction, hands-on experimentation, and team-based work.
Chemistry labs include fume hoods, instrumentation benches, and secure storage, while biology labs feature sit-down bench heights to support microscope use. Dedicated service zones adjacent to each lab streamline class transitions and improve operational efficiency.
