Metropolitan Multi-Service Center Renovation & Canopy

The project introduced a lighted entry canopy large enough to accommodate two vehicles side by side, allowing cars and METRO lift vans to safely load and unload passengers under shelter. A new covered walkway connects the METRO bus stop to the entrance, eliminating the need for patrons to cross the parking lot. The design also replaced deteriorated paving and removed a congested double-door entry, creating a more efficient and welcoming arrival sequence.

The team preserved a mature live oak tree at the site, designing the canopy footprint and stormwater detention system to protect its root zone. Additional improvements included new tree plantings and irrigation to further enhance the landscape.

PGAL collaborated closely with White Oak Studios, the design lead, to bring the vision to life under the management of the General Services Department.
