Don Soffer Aventura High School
Aventura, FL
Located on a compact two-acre parcel adjacent to Waterways Park, the 65,000-square-foot high school was designed to maximize the use of park-adjacent land while enhancing security, circulation, and vertical efficiency.

The four-story facility accommodates 800 students and includes 28 classrooms, a music room, drama room, art room with kiln, and Cambridge science and computer labs. These specialized learning spaces are equipped with stand-up desks, digital whiteboards, and flexible furnishings that support hands-on and challenge-based learning. Administrative offices and a centralized dining hall are also located within the building.
Additional features include a full-court gymnasium with retractable bleacher seating for 300, integrated security design such as shot-spotter technology and bullet-resistant entry vestibules, and outdoor recreation fields that serve both the school and community. The project incorporated existing site conditions, including mitigation of hazardous materials and shared parking for parents, staff, and buses.
