City of Pasadena Police Department Annex

PGAL designed the 33,000-square-foot facility to support the Pasadena Police Department’s continued growth while keeping key functions close to Police Headquarters, the Municipal Courthouse, and City Hall. An efficient, single-story plan helped the City achieve its operational goals within established budget parameters. The building’s architecture complements the adjacent municipal facilities while completing the south edge of the civic space. The location also connects the annex to Pasadena City Plaza, strengthening the pedestrian connection among key municipal facilities.

The main purpose of the building is to centralize the Fire Marshal’s and Police Department’s property storage and evidence processing. High-density storage systems maximize capacity, while dedicated areas for specialized evidence enhance security and support chain-of-custody requirements from initial processing through final disposal. Approximately 18,000 square feet of office space accommodates multiple specialized police units, provides room for future growth, and includes a shared public engagement lobby.
