Allamanda Elementary School

This 119,700-square-foot, one-story facility emphasizes wayfinding, visual control, and safety while responding to the surrounding residential and environmental context.

The school’s academic spaces include eight kindergarten classrooms, 12 primary classrooms, 10 intermediate classrooms, 12 self-contained ESE classrooms, and three part-time ESE classrooms. Additional support spaces serve a range of functions, including administration, teacher planning, media center, cafeteria, music, art, and physical education.

At the main entry, strong geometric elements welcome students while providing a clear line of sight from the administration suite. A viewing window reinforces visual control and adds an element of safety for arrival and dismissal periods. The design also includes a large outdoor courtyard to support both structured learning and recreational activities.
