Aircraft Rescue + Firefighting (ARFF) Station 21 at Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL)
Dallas, TX
Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL) is modernizing its emergency response infrastructure with the replacement of the aging Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) Station 21. Originally constructed in the 1960s, the existing facility has exceeded its service life, creating the need for a modern solution that meets current operational demands and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations.

Strategically located between the airport’s primary runways (13L and 13R), the new 33,400-square-foot ARFF Station 21 integrates with DAL’s Crossfield Taxiway reconfiguration and is designed to optimize emergency response times. Its central location supports rapid deployment of emergency personnel and equipment during critical situations.
The facility houses both the Dallas Fire-Rescue (DFR) ARFF Program’s administrative team and the airport’s airside operations staff, enabling seamless coordination during emergencies. The building features four response bays, two maintenance bays, a battalion administration office, and a dedicated training room equipped with a virtual reality simulator. This immersive training environment enhances firefighter preparedness through scenario-based, hands-on simulation.
