University of Florida Honors Village
Gainesville, FL
The University of Florida Honors College Housing Complex includes four residential towers ranging from five to six stories, along with a one-story commons building. Together, the five-building complex spans over 415,000 square feet and provides housing for 1,407 students in a mix of single and double-occupancy rooms. Rooms are organized into 20- and 40-bed communities, each with dedicated laundry, lounge, and kitchen facilities to support everyday student life.

Located at the heart of the university’s primary residential zone, the complex is anchored by a generous courtyard. Shaded by mature trees, the courtyard connects to a major pedestrian corridor that links the complex to the broader academic campus. Open lawn space, seating areas, and amenities such as a hammock area contribute to a relaxed campus atmosphere. Bicycle infrastructure includes both covered and uncovered parking for over 400 bikes.
Delivered using a fast-track design-build approach, PGAL served as Architect of Record in collaboration with Associate Architect Walker, and Weitz Construction.
Each building’s ground floor offers specialized program areas that encourage connection and wellness. These include spaces for music, art, mindfulness, gaming, and library or study use. Large lounges and shared kitchens support informal gatherings and promote interaction among students. Honors College administrative offices are also located on the ground floor, providing a central resource for residents.
