At Newark Liberty International Airport, four aging TSA checkpoints in Terminal C were consolidated into a single, integrated Security Screening Checkpoint (SSCP) to improve efficiency, reduce congestion, and streamline the passenger experience in one of the airport’s busiest terminals.

The new checkpoint includes 17 state-of-the-art Automated Screening Lanes and two legacy lanes to accommodate oversized items such as strollers and wheelchairs. By unifying previously scattered security functions, the design increases throughput, enhances flexibility, and allows TSA personnel to respond more effectively to fluctuating demand.
