Tomball Tollway Section 1 (SH 249)
PGAL served as the prime consultant for this 2.3-mile toll facility, a critical mobility enhancement along SH 249 between Spring Cypress and Willow Creek.

The six-lane corridor, featuring auxiliary lanes and advanced bridge infrastructure, addressed key transportation needs for the rapidly growing region.
PGAL led the geometric design of all mainlanes, ramps, and bridges, including a 1,736-linear-foot twin bridge spanning Boudreaux Road and the future Grand Parkway Frontage Roads. From concept to execution, PGAL delivered all design work in-house, ensuring continuity, precision, and schedule control.
Elevated superstructure segments introduced complex design challenges such as ramp tie-ins, flat pavement transitions, and drainage management involving bridge scuppers, center barriers, and 100-year water elevation considerations. PGAL also navigated vertical clearance requirements and integrated future-focused design elements, including accommodations for a fourth lane, Grand Parkway Direct Connectors, and a future frontage road crossing.
Through close collaboration with TxDOT, HCTRA, and Harris County, PGAL completed this vital corridor improvement within a compressed seven-month timeline.
