Serving as the main entry to a medical research facility, the renovated 800-square-foot, two-story lobby blends the historic character of the repurposed Nabisco factory with modern function. The staircase was opened to introduce natural light and create space for the reception desk, which features a custom artist-designed light fixture as its focal point. Seating areas were arranged to maximize comfort and flow around the entry.

Exposed ceiling structure highlights the building’s industrial past, while acoustical baffles serve both as a design feature and as noise control for the glass and hard surfaces.

Phase two converted second-floor office space into a medium-sized conference room. The updated color palette reflects the branding of the Texas Medical Center, incorporating cobalt blue and warm gray tones into epoxy flooring and ceiling treatments. Together, the lobby and conference room present a cohesive design that balances historic character with modern functionality.
