Sustainability Achievement
Targeting LEED Gold Certification

The program enhances flow from curb to gate by streamlining security screening, expanding baggage claim and check-in areas, and improving vertical circulation to serve growing passenger volumes. Consolidating key functions simplifies navigation while strengthening operational reliability.

The project expands and modernizes the T4 concourse and headhouse. At Terminal 4, the concourse is being reconfigured to maximize the building footprint while keeping all 15 gates active throughout construction. Upgrades include expanded holdrooms, improved airside connections between terminals, and increased restroom capacity to create a more intuitive and comfortable environment.

The design emphasizes natural light, open spaces, flexible use, and clear wayfinding to improve experiences for both guests and employees. Targeting LEED Gold, the project integrates sustainable systems that reduce environmental impact and support long-term performance.

To minimize disruption, multiple enabling packages and phased construction strategies were developed to accelerate key activities while keeping gate operations active. Measures such as strategically placed barricades and temporary relocations allowed the project to proceed as a landside operation, maintaining the airline’s high standard of customer service throughout construction.

Durability and cost efficiency are reinforced through the use of readily available off-the-shelf materials, ensuring a functional and resilient facility designed to meet the demands of one of the world’s busiest airports.
