Terminal 1.5 at Los Angeles International Airport is a four-story, 225,000-square-foot facility strategically positioned between Terminals 1 and 2. The project enhances airside connectivity, streamlines curbside activity, and boosts operational efficiency at one of the world’s busiest aviation hubs.

Created to serve multiple airlines for the next two decades, Terminal 1.5 accommodates both passenger and airline operations with ticketing and check-in counters, baggage claim, retail concessions, and leasable office space. Additional functions include airline support areas, a pilot and flight attendant base, a centralized security checkpoint, and vertical circulation systems.

A central feature is the secure pedestrian connection between Terminals 1 and 2, allowing travelers to move seamlessly between concourses without exiting the secure zone. The terminal’s dedicated vertical core also provides future access to LAX’s Automated People Mover, further strengthening landside connectivity across the airport campus.

Additional program elements include outbound and inbound baggage systems with TSA screening, a bus gate, and a purpose-built loading dock with back-of-house service areas for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and IT systems.
