The building layout separates the autopsy suite from administrative and training areas using a specialized barrier wall that blocks mechanical penetration. This separation controls odor transmission and maintains strict environmental conditions. Independent HVAC systems and dedicated rooftop equipment platforms further isolate clinical and office functions, ensuring optimal performance across departments.

The facility was designed in collaboration with MWL Architects, with extensive input from the Montgomery County Forensic Director and staff to optimize functionality, workflow, and future adaptability.
