International Arrivals Building at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH)
Houston, TX
PGAL served as overall design manager and lead architect for the 800,000-square-foot International Arrivals Building (IAB) at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), redefining Houston’s role as a global gateway.

The facility was designed to process up to 4,500 international passengers per hour, making it the largest Federal Inspection Services (FIS) facility in the United States at the time of completion. In close coordination with the Houston Airport System, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and other federal agencies, PGAL led the design and fit-out of all interior spaces while navigating evolving regulatory standards.
The building connects directly to both Terminal D and the future Terminal E, ensuring a seamless transition for international passengers. Phased construction maintained uninterrupted airport operations, highlighting PGAL’s expertise in managing complex, high-volume aviation projects where precision and flexibility are essential.
