IAH Terminal C – Vulcan Deployment
Houston, TX
To support United Airlines' evolving passenger processing needs, PGAL reconfigured the Terminal C ticketing lobby at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), creating a more efficient and flexible self-service check-in experience.

The project transformed the existing ticketing area to accommodate new self-check-in technology for both Premier Access and self-service passengers. Existing kiosks were removed and replaced with mobile Vulcan units, providing greater operational flexibility while enhancing the passenger experience. Working within an active terminal environment, the design was carefully coordinated to support ongoing airport operations throughout construction.
As Architect-of-Record, PGAL provided full architectural services, including programming, feasibility studies, master planning, interior design, and interior Architect-of-Record services. The scope included sealing unused floor cores, installing new floor penetrations, and upgrading power and data connections to support relocated equipment and evolving technology needs.
By modernizing the check-in environment and improving passenger flow, the project provides United Airlines with a flexible and adaptable ticketing space that supports current operations while accommodating future advancements in passenger processing technology.
