Hotel Republic

A former W Hotel was renovated into Hotel Republic, a contemporary, coastal-chic destination that reflects San Diego’s relaxed sophistication and vibrant civic spirit. Located on the historic site of the original San Diego Steam Laundry, the hotel weaves local character into a modern hospitality experience.

The design reimagines key public spaces to align with Marriott’s Autograph Collection standards. The two-story lobby features coastal textures and modern finishes, creating an inviting and open arrival sequence. Just above, the club lounge and outdoor terrace offer lounge seating, a fireplace, and panoramic views of downtown.

Dining venues include Topside Terrace Kitchen & Bar, a rooftop destination with fire pits and open-air seating; Trade, a 57-seat restaurant and cocktail bar with casual, coastal styling; and Patio Marketplace, a quick-service café offering gourmet grab-and-go options with indoor seating for up to 46 guests.

Revitalized public spaces enhance the hotel’s role as a vibrant gathering place for both visitors and the local community.
