To elevate the City’s role as a regional destination and enhance airport operations, PGAL designed a new 17,500-square-foot General Aviation Terminal at Arlington Municipal Airport. The two-story terminal replaces the outdated 7,000-square-foot 1982 facility, significantly expanding the Airport’s capacity to serve tenants, pilots, and passengers with modern amenities and efficient design.

The terminal’s design reflects Arlington’s evolving civic identity and corporate presence. A contemporary aesthetic, natural daylighting, and durable, low-maintenance finishes contribute to a welcoming and efficient environment. A two-story lobby serves as a visual beacon during nighttime operations and enhances the user experience throughout the day.

Functionally, the terminal was designed to accommodate increased peak traffic brought on by major area attractions, including AT&T Stadium, Globe Life Field, and Six Flags. Key design considerations included flexible space planning, airside and landside access, a covered vehicle drop-off area, and energy-efficient systems. Creative funding, including a share of airport gas well revenues, enabled the City to take a long-term approach that prioritized value, sustainability, and future adaptability.

The result is a terminal that not only enhances operational efficiency but also strengthens Arlington’s role as a gateway city.

This terminal will serve as a positive first impression for visitors. This is a premier gateway to Arlington.
