The approximately 20,000-square-foot building is organized to promote efficient workflows and clear separation between public access, staff operations, and secure storage. Offices, evidence processing, and a forensic laboratory suit occupy approximately 7,000 square feet, while the remaining space functions as high-bay evidence storage. An expansive, paved impound yard supports vehicle intake and exterior evidence handling, with defined circulation for public, staff, and service access.

Located within an active correctional campus near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, the project required demolition of an existing building and close coordination with county stakeholders. Designed as a high-security facility capable of withstanding severe weather, the building integrates emergency power, access control, and surveillance systems to support continuous, reliable operation. Planned site expansion allows the facility to adapt to projected growth through 2030 and beyond, ensuring long-term flexibility as operational needs evolve.
