Consolidated Rental Car Maintenance + Storage Facility at Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport (BTV)

The new consolidated site brings together all on-airport and off-airport rental car operations into a single, expanded facility located near the departure road and airfield.

Spanning 2.8 acres, the facility was designed to support the three major rental car brands with exclusive-use areas for primary vehicle service operations. The program includes 200 staging and storage stalls, six fueling positions, three car wash tunnels with in-line vacuum systems, and dedicated administrative and employee support areas.

Environmental performance and site access were key priorities in the planning and design phases. PGAL delivered a full scope of services, including rental car planning, facility design, and construction management. The site’s adjacency to both the terminal and parking garage required careful coordination with FAA access requirements and local agency approvals from the City of South Burlington.

Constructed in two phases, the facility replaces multiple fragmented service points with a centralized, operationally efficient solution that aligns visually and functionally with the airport’s existing infrastructure. The result is a unified and streamlined experience for operators and travelers alike.
