Consolidated Rental Car Facility (ConRAC) at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

PGAL planned and designed the 6 million-square-foot facility, which consolidates over a dozen rental car operations into a single, efficient location. Once complete, all customers will access the facility via the airport’s automated people mover (APM), eliminating the need for shuttle buses and significantly reducing traffic in the Central Terminal Area and surrounding neighborhoods.

As the largest ConRAC in the world—and the second largest concrete structure in the United States after the Pentagon—the facility accommodates nearly 20,000 parking spaces for rental cars and employees. The project also features a quick turnaround (QTA) building for efficient fueling, washing, and light maintenance of vehicles, enabling fast, streamlined service.

The facility integrates sustainable design strategies and was delivered in close coordination with multiple local and regional agencies. Part of a broader airport modernization effort, the ConRAC redefines rental car access while supporting long-term mobility and environmental goals at one of the world’s busiest airports.
