The 38,000-square-foot West University Place Recreation Center was designed to blend with its residential surroundings while offering a broad range of fitness, wellness, and community amenities. Inspired by Hill Country architecture, the exterior features fieldstone, stucco, arched windows, and a pitched standing seam metal roof that conveys a welcoming civic presence.

A two-story lobby filled with natural light creates a bright, welcoming entry, reinforcing the center’s role as a hub for active lifestyles and community connection. A competition-level, eight-lane indoor pool anchors the aquatic zone, with roll-up glass doors that open to the outdoors in favorable weather. Deep overhangs reduce glare, while spacious decks accommodate both casual swimmers and event spectators.

Fitness and wellness areas include studios for yoga, Pilates, and ballet, as well as cardio and weight rooms with modern training systems. Multipurpose rooms with movable partitions support programs and events, while two convertible courts accommodate both racquetball and squash.

The outdoor environment extends recreation with two Little League baseball fields, a batting cage, soccer field, and jogging trail.
