City of Pearland Delores Fenwick Nature Center
Pearland, TX
The Delores Fenwick Nature Center in Pearland, Texas, is a 6,000-square-foot environmental education facility designed to connect visitors with the region’s native ecosystems. Located within the John Hargrove Environmental Complex, the center overlooks adjacent wetlands and a bird sanctuary, offering a natural backdrop that supports experiential learning and ecological awareness.

Inside, visitors can explore live animal exhibits, hands-on bio-fact stations, and a 720-gallon double-sided aquarium that features aquatic species native to the area. A flexible classroom space accommodates up to 50 participants for workshops, school programs, and environmental education events.
Extending the learning environment outdoors, a 2,800-square-foot shaded classroom allows for lessons and programming within the landscape itself. This space links directly to walking trails, demonstration gardens, and planned areas for a future tree farm, reinforcing the center’s mission to promote environmental stewardship.
