City of Frisco Fire Station No. 2 Renovation + Addition
Frisco, TX
Originally constructed in 1996, Fire Station No. 2 required significant updates to better support modern fire rescue operations and firefighter wellness.

The renovation updated both living and operational spaces to improve safety, functionality, and day-to-day performance for crews serving Frisco’s southeast service area. Open dormitories were replaced with individual sleeping rooms, providing greater privacy and improved rest during long shifts. Interior upgrades also included a renovated kitchen, a designated locker room, and a storm shelter designed to support personnel during severe weather events.
Operational enhancements focused on health, readiness, and efficiency. A new enclosed, climate-controlled fitness room supports physical training year-round, while a dedicated decontamination room and on-site extractor allow bunker gear to be cleaned without leaving the station. The addition of a cascade system for filling air bottles further streamlines response operations and reduces downtime.
Throughout construction, firefighters continued operating from temporary on-site housing, allowing emergency services to remain fully functional while the station was updated into a safer, more resilient workplace.
