City of Conroe Police Training Facility Flood Protection Levee
Conroe, TX
Severe flooding during Hurricane Harvey overtopped the existing levee at the Conroe Police Training Facility, damaging multiple structures and disrupting essential operations. In response, flood protection improvements were designed to strengthen the site against future storm events and restore long-term reliability.

The updated design raised the levee to at least one foot above the 500-year flood level. Concrete floodwalls were constructed on drilled shaft foundations, and the access road was reconstructed to align with the new elevation.
The scope included a new stormwater pump station with emergency power, site grading for a future maintenance building, and a raised building pad for the new training facility. A storm sewer system was also introduced to manage drainage and tie into the new infrastructure serving the facility.
Together, these improvements provide critical flood resilience for a key public safety campus and ensure continuity of operations during future storm events.
