$2.8B United Airlines Terminal B Transformation Program Kicks off in Houston

PGAL continues the legacy of aviation design as part of United Airlines’ Terminal B Transformation program at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) which kicked off at the November 30 United Next in Houston event, featuring United’s CEO Scott Kirby and Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner.

“United Next is about new investments that improve the customer experience and building careers for the next generation of aviation professionals – and all those things and more are coming to life here in Houston,” said Kirby.

PGAL, with partners Manhattan Construction, will design and build the new state-of-the-art Terminal B North passenger concourse. Designed to enhance and elevate the traveler experience, Terminal B North will include 765,000 square feet over three levels and feature 22 narrow-body gates and what is set to be the largest United Club in the United system. Highlights also include a sensory room, interactive multi-media park, and comfort spaces for passengers with disabilities. The project’s two piers will be connected by a central concessions hub, delivering over 115,000 square feet of dynamic shopping and dining options.

With the program’s overall completion slated for 2028, Mayor Turner states, “Houston is a premier, world-class destination deserving of a state-of-the-art facility to welcome individuals traveling to our city. “
