The Anamar at Collins Park has been recognized with a Citation Award of Excellence in the New Work category at the 2026 AIA Florida Design Awards.

Located in Miami Beach’s cultural district, the artist and workforce housing development was honored as part of AIA Florida’s annual program recognizing design excellence across Florida and Puerto Rico.

Designed by Shulman + Associates and delivered by PGAL as Architect-of-Record, The Anamar at Collins Park transforms a city-owned site into a vibrant mixed-use community that addresses workforce housing needs while supporting the cultural vitality of the Collins Park neighborhood.

The seven-story development includes workforce housing units, residential accommodation for Miami City Ballet students, and community-oriented spaces that foster connection between residents, artists, and the surrounding neighborhood. The project demonstrates how thoughtful design can create meaningful social impact while strengthening the urban fabric of one of Miami Beach’s most significant cultural districts.

“The Anamar at Collins Park demonstrates how architecture can respond to critical community needs while enhancing the character and identity of a neighborhood,” said Ian Nestler, AIA, Executive Vice President, PGAL. “This project brought together public and private partners around a shared vision for attainable housing, cultural enrichment, and long-term community investment. The recognition from AIA Florida reflects the collaborative effort and commitment of everyone involved in bringing that vision to life.”

The AIA Florida Design Awards are among the state’s highest design honors, recognizing projects that exemplify excellence in architecture and the built environment. According to AIA Florida, the 2026 awards program received a record number of submissions and was evaluated by an international jury of architects and academics.
