The project builds on PGAL’s earlier renovation of Jet Aviation’s executive terminal, creating a more unified and efficient campus that supports passengers, flight crews, and aircraft operations while positioning the company for continued growth in the Houston market.

The development includes a 29,200-square-foot pre-engineered metal hangar and a 7,500-square-foot office facility, strategically designed to reuse the existing foundation and maximize value for the client. Working within the constraints of the existing site, PGAL collaborated closely with the project team to evaluate code requirements and identify opportunities to reduce construction costs without compromising safety, functionality, or operational efficiency.

A key design solution involved lowering the hangar height from approximately 35 feet to less than 28 feet, allowing the facility to utilize a wet-pipe sprinkler system in accordance with NFPA 409 rather than a more costly foam-based fire suppression system. This reduced construction costs while maintaining the level of protection required for the facility’s operations.

Delivered through a Design-Build approach, the project benefited from close coordination among PGAL, Holt Construction, consultants, Jet Aviation stakeholders, and regulatory agencies. This collaborative process supported extensive due diligence to enhance the structural capacity of the existing foundation to satisfy regulatory and insurance requirements.  The result is a modern aviation facility that restores critical operational capacity while complementing the executive terminal and strengthening Jet Aviation’s long-term presence at Hobby Airport.
