The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Lone Mountain Nevada Temple
Set against the desert landscape of northwest Las Vegas, the Lone Mountain Nevada Temple is envisioned as a contemporary expression of sacred architecture that balances permanence, clarity, and connection to place.
Located on a 19.8-acre site, the temple establishes a prominent civic and spiritual presence through a symmetrical composition, vertically proportioned arched glazing, and a central tower capped with a gold-toned dome that serves as a visual landmark.
The design responds to the surrounding desert environment while reinforcing a timeless identity through a refined white exterior and carefully ordered massing. Features include a three-story temple design, expansive arched window systems, and a clear central axis that organizes movement throughout the building.
Interior spaces support reflection and worship through calm, light-filled environments shaped by proportion, materiality, and craftsmanship. The use of custom art glass, accented with local flora motifs, enhances the religious experience while reinforcing a sense of place. Warm finishes and restrained detailing create a contemplative atmosphere while strengthening the connection between the exterior architecture and interior experience.
The landscape extends this vision with xeriscape strategies, drought-tolerant planting, shaded pathways, and more than 200 trees. Together, the architecture, interiors, and site create a cohesive campus for worship and a lasting contribution to the growing Lone Mountain community.
