City of Port Arthur Opens New Animal Services Center

Port Arthur Animal grand opening

The Port Arthur community celebrated the grand opening of its new Animal Services Center, a project that brings fresh energy and renewed purpose to animal care.

City leaders, residents, and project partners gathered to mark the occasion, stepping inside a bright, modern facility designed to better support animals and the people who care for them. The new center replaces outdated conditions with a thoughtfully planned environment that is more efficient, more welcoming, and better equipped for the future.

Designed by PGAL, the facility reflects a forward-thinking approach to animal services, improving daily operations for staff while creating a calmer, more comfortable setting for animals and a more welcoming experience for visitors.

“This is a space designed with care at every level,” said PGAL Principal Paul Bonnette, emphasizing the team’s focus on creating an environment that supports both efficient operations and meaningful community interaction.

Port Arthur Mayor Charlotte Moses opened the program by welcoming the community and emphasizing that the Animal Services Center is more than just a building. It represents a meaningful investment in the city’s future, reinforcing a commitment to responsible care while creating a space residents can take pride and thrive in.

As guests toured the facility during the grand opening, the impact of the project was clear. The vision was to create something that not only operates efficiently but truly makes a difference.

In Port Arthur, that vision now has a vibrant new home.
