Mia’s
Mia’s is a 2,500-square-foot restaurant that creates a vibrant, coastal-inspired dining destination rooted in Southern California and Mediterranean influences. Working within the existing footprint, we partnered with the client to shape a cohesive, socially driven environment that feels both relaxed and refined.

Repositioning an existing, outdated restaurant space, the new layout improves flow, visibility, and overall connectivity. Key back-of-house components, including the kitchen and exhibition cooking areas, were maintained, while the bar was refined to serve as a central anchor within the dining room. This strategic intervention enhances sightlines and encourages interaction, creating a more engaging and efficient guest experience.
Interior design strategies focus on layering texture, color, and material to establish a warm, coastal character. Handcrafted green tile, plaster finishes, and wood slat wainscoting introduce depth and variation, while arched wall features and custom wallcoverings soften the space and reference Mediterranean forms. The palette draws from sun-washed tones and natural materials, creating a setting that feels bright, relaxed, and connected to the surrounding beach community.
Furniture and finishes were selected to balance durability with comfort while supporting a more social dining experience. Custom booth seating incorporates performance fabrics and warm wood tones, complemented by a mix of woven textures and light wood furnishings that reinforce a casual, coastal aesthetic. Dark-toned flooring grounds the space and contrasts with lighter finishes, while a large-scale mural introduces movement and color, tying the interior experience to its coastal inspiration.
Seating extends beyond the interior to include a 750-square-foot semi-private patio, sidewalk café, and shared outdoor dining area, allowing the restaurant to operate as a flexible indoor-outdoor environment. By building on the existing architectural framework, the design introduces a refreshed identity that supports daily operations and enhances the overall guest experience.
