Del Valle Library Celebrates Topping-Out Milestone

The Del Valle community and project partners gathered to celebrate a topping-out milestone for the new Del Valle Library, marking an important step forward for a project that would expand learning and community space in the East Travis Gateway Library District.

The on-site celebration brought together representatives from the East Travis Gateway Library District, PGAL, the construction team, local officials, and community members. PGAL Principal Cris Ruebush shared, “Reaching this milestone is a testament to the collaboration and shared vision behind the Del Valle Library. This project represents more than a building. It is an investment in learning, connection, and the future of the community.”

Designed by PGAL, the new library was envisioned as a welcoming hub for learning, connection, and community engagement. The design responded to everyday community needs through practical amenities integrated throughout the building, including convenient access to resources, public computing areas, and spaces that supported both visitors and staff.

Developed in close coordination with library leadership, the project reflected a shared commitment to creating a library that served as both a neighborhood resource and a place for shared learning. The celebration signified a key moment in construction and highlighted the collaboration and dedication of the teams working to bring this vision to life, as the library moved closer to becoming a lasting community asset for Del Valle.
