RM 2147 Rehab + Widening
Horseshoe Bay, TX
PGAL led the PS&E design for the 3-mile rehab and widening of RM 2147 from SH 71 to Ferguson Road, improving a vital corridor in Horseshoe Bay.

The project included pavement widening for left-turn lanes at five intersections, and a continuous left-turn lane through a commercial district that improved safety and traffic flow in a growing residential resort area.
PGAL led roadway and drainage design, as well as coordination with utility providers and local stakeholders. Shoulders were widened to eight feet, and safety improvements were added that included culvert extensions, safety end treatments, and metal beam guard fence.
Recognizing the City of Horseshoe Bay’s financial investment and active civic interest, PGAL went beyond typical coordination efforts, providing weekly progress reports, tailored updates, and direct engagement with City Council to ensure their priorities and community vision were fully reflected in the design. Executed within an accelerated four-month timeline, the project successfully delivered to meet the City of Horseshoe Bay’s budget constraints and schedule.
