Regional Intermodal Transit Center (RITC) at Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR)

Designed to support multiple modes of transportation, this 850,000-square-foot facility brings together public parking, a consolidated rental car facility, regional bus service, bicycle access, and a direct connection to the airport’s heavy rail station.

Set on a constrained urban site, the RITC supports Burbank’s growing transportation needs while preserving vital revenue streams. The project includes a 1,200-space public parking structure, replacing displaced airport parking and maintaining operational efficiency. A 2,000-space consolidated rental car facility features a multi-level layout with ready/return areas, a dedicated customer service building, and elevated platforms for fueling, maintenance, and car washing.

To enhance safety and accessibility, a 1,200-linear-foot elevated pedestrian walkway with moving sidewalks links the RITC to airport terminals—creating a seamless experience for travelers.

Built for long-term resilience, the structure is engineered to withstand a maximum critical seismic event.
