City of Austin Canyon Creek Fire + EMS Station

The project carries forward successful design strategies from earlier stations while introducing a distinct architectural expression that reinforces civic identity.

The exterior design aligns with Austin’s sustainability goals and responds to the local architectural vernacular. A limestone façade along Highway 620 anchors the station, while the dynamic roof form provides shading and accommodates future solar panels.

Engineered for continuous 24-hour operations, the facility features 14 sleep rooms, a 1,200-square-foot kitchen and dayroom, a training room, and a fitness center with direct outdoor access. Additional amenities include shaded outdoor lounge areas, four back-in apparatus bays, and an integrated fueling station, ensuring a highly functional and resilient public safety resource.
