Fort Bend County Justice Center
Richmond, TX
As the focal point of a 40-acre government campus, the Fort Bend County Justice Center was designed to serve the County’s growing judicial system while accommodating long-term expansion.

The 365,000-square-foot master planned facility was delivered in two phases to meet immediate operational needs and support future growth.
The building houses 17 courtrooms with space to expand to 27 within the existing footprint. A dedicated 100,000-square-foot wing serves key court support departments, including the District and County Clerk, District Attorney, and Law Library. Each department benefits from secure work areas, public-facing zones, and open, efficient layouts.
A 104-foot clock tower and 85-foot dome reference the historic 1908 courthouse, reinforcing civic identity and anchoring the campus. Exterior materials include cast stone, terra cotta brick, and green metal roofing that align with the campus aesthetic. Inside, vaulted courtrooms, terrazzo flooring, warm finishes, and integrated audiovisual systems combine function with dignified design.
The lower level includes 112 holding cells, with capacity for 34 more. A secure 600-foot tunnel links the facility to the County jail to streamline inmate transfers. A glass-enclosed lobby and domed atrium create a welcoming public entry while maintaining flexibility for future use.
