City of Houston Emergency Center

Supporting more than 3.6 million emergency calls annually, the center houses critical citywide operations in a secure, high-performance environment.

The facility includes a situation room, press-ready auditorium, and dedicated space for administration, operations, and dispatch. Building systems were designed with 24/7 redundancy to ensure uninterrupted performance in all conditions. A modular, expandable infrastructure unifies emergency response operations across city departments while allowing flexibility for future growth.

Fire Dispatch maintains constant communication with emergency personnel across 85 fire stations serving 850 square miles. Within the center, administration, call takers, dispatch, and support staff operate alongside a secure situation room, where the mayor and city officials can coordinate critical response efforts during emergencies.
