The expansion and renovation of student services facilities at Texas A&M University at Galveston created a centralized hub for student life on the ocean-oriented campus of the Texas A&M University System. The two-phase project includes a new 10,000-square-foot Student Services building along with the renovation and expansion of the adjacent Mary Moody Northen Student Center.

The new facility provides dedicated office, meeting, and support space for Student Affairs staff, with specialized areas for student life, counseling, and career placement services. A bright maroon entry marquee and broad steps mark the main entry, establishing a strong visual link to the Northen Student Center and enhancing the sense of arrival on campus.

With student service functions relocated, the Northen Student Center was repurposed as an event and reception venue. A flexible meeting and dining room with seating for 100 was added, expanding the campus’ capacity to host special functions, community events, and student gatherings. Together, these connected spaces create a vibrant, student-focused destination that supports both daily needs and milestone occasions.
