Greater Harris County 9-1-1 Huntsville Data Center

The 4,560-square-foot building functions as both a Network Operations Center and a backup disaster recovery center for the county’s administrative headquarters at the Tom Bass Building.

The project also incorporates a separate equipment storage building, a radio communications tower, and surface parking. Located on a new 40-acre auxiliary campus, the facility was planned with new utility services, road access, and a low-water crossing to support future development, including a 400-foot-high radio tower.

As a Tier IV facility, the data center includes dual A/B electrical gear and UPS systems, two generators with on-site fuel storage, redundant AC systems, diverse fiber feeds, and potable water storage to support up to two days of independent operation. Together, these features ensure uninterrupted service delivery for one of the largest 9-1-1 networks in the nation.
