Located at a prominent campus gateway, Parking Garage 5 Market Station was designed to be more than just a place to park. This mixed-use facility brings together structured parking, retail, classrooms, and a new university police department to create a lively and functional hub for Florida International University students, staff, and visitors.

The seven-story garage provides 2,100 parking spaces and includes offices for parking authority staff. At street level, a 30,000-square-foot space houses classrooms and retail offerings centered around a welcoming rotunda – an open, flexible area for gathering, shopping, and student services. Thoughtful touches like a covered walkway, glass and aluminum finishes, and urban design details help tie the complex into the look and feel of the surrounding campus.

Architectural precast panels, metal and concrete elevator cores, and varied exterior finishes break up the building’s size visually while creating a cohesive, campus-friendly aesthetic. PGAL also designed a new roadway and circulation system that successfully reduced traffic congestion by redirecting half of the garage traffic away from peak-hour bottlenecks.
