PGAL Engineering Celebrates Ribbon Cutting of the West Gulf Bank Road Improvements Project

PGAL had the honor of designing the West Gulf Bank Road improvements between IH-45 and Airline Drive in Houston, Texas. A team of dedicated PGAL engineers focused on enhancing not only transportation efficiency but also community safety, especially for students attending nearby schools, cyclists and commuters, and residents traveling to local destinations.

The reconstructed four-lane boulevard now features 8-foot-wide sidewalks, new traffic signals and crosswalks, and a buried storm sewer system, creating a safer, more accessible, and flood-resilient route for the surrounding neighborhoods. Beyond improving infrastructure, the project supports the broader goals of Harris County Precinct 2’s Revive2Thrive program, which aims to revitalize underserved communities through strategic public investments in infrastructure and quality of life.

The milestone was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by community leaders, project partners, and residents. Among the proud speakers were Harris County Precinct 2 Commissioner Adrian Garcia, County Engineer Dr. Milton Rahman, and Flood Control Director Dr. Tina Peterson, all of whom recognized the project’s significance in improving safety, mobility, and resilience for Houston’s northside community.
