PGAL Austin Hosts Open House

PGAL Austin recently hosted an open house event at their new office space located in the historic Penn Field, an adaptive reuse of a 1918-era Air Force base.

“As an architect in Austin, to have a South Congress address and get to move into the old School of Military Aeronautics campus that was the original Austin industrial to creative design, was finding a jewel in the rough.” Principal Eric Miller notes. “We now have a studio that mirrors and celebrates our office culture but, more importantly, is a space that we can share with our design community as we initiate new projects for old and new clients alike.”

The space boasts exposed brick walls, wood beams, and high, open ceilings. Designed to reflect PGAL’s values and aesthetics, the team was thrilled to move into the new studio and share that excitement with a hosted celebration.

The event was a huge success and attracted a great turnout of friends, clients, and partners. The team was on hand to give tours, answer questions, and host a virtual reality (VR) station where guests could explore various PGAL designs with a virtual walkthrough. The celebration was topped off with local Tex-Mex bites, live music, and friendly games of cornhole on the patio.

“We are so thankful to have a new office space that is architecturally beautiful to work in every day,” shares Principal Cris Ruebush. “It was a real treat to show our friends and industry colleagues where PGAL Austin now calls home.”
