Boston Logan International Airport ConRAC Earns LEED Gold Certification

The Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) Consolidated Rental Car Facility (ConRAC) was recently awarded LEED Gold certification. Developed within an occupied brown-field site, the project incorporates solar panels, water reducing measures, as well as green initiatives such as: daylighting and installation of LED artificial lighting, low-flow plumbing fixtures, and materials with low VOCs and extensive recycled and recyclable content.

The 49-acre, $310M facility reorganized transportation throughout the airport providing a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, curbside congestion and provides greater connectivity for passengers to airport terminals and public transit. The facility features a 3-story, 113,000 SF customer service center and 3-story parking garage with rooftop storage for 3,100 cars as well as individual exclusive use maintenance areas for each rental car company.
