Samuel J. Ferreri, AIA, Joins PGAL's Florida Office as Principal

PGAL is pleased to welcome Samuel J. Ferreri, AIA, as a Principal in our Boca Raton, FL office. Sam brings 36 years of design and management experience, most recently as a Principal with SchenkelShultz Architecture for 12 years. He was also Principal and Owner of Educated Design of Florida, Inc. and served with several other leading South Florida architectural firms.

At PGAL, Sam is responsible for business development, contract negotiation, project design through construction and staff management/mentoring.

“Adding a second design Principal to our Boca Raton staff reflects PGAL's confidence in the future growth of the Florida marketplace,” says PGAL Chief Executive Officer Jeff Gerber, AIA, LEED AP. “Sam has extensive experience with higher education, K-12, public libraries and master planning projects and also brings a strong portfolio in sports and recreation facilities. He's a perfect fit for our Boca Raton office and for PGAL nationwide.”

One of Sam's most recent assignments was Principal Architect/Project Manager for Florida Atlantic University's $52M Stadium in Boca Raton. He has also been Mayor of the City of Greenacres, FL since 1988. He holds a Master of Arts in Architecture from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from Florida A & M University's School of Architecture, He won the AIA Gold Medal, Palm Beach AIA in 2011 and is a frequent speaker on sustainable design and related issues.

Sam currently serves on the Palm Beach Metropolitan Planning Organization, on the Board of Directors of the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council and the Florida League of Cities, and on the Advisory Board of the National League of Cities. He also serves as Chairman of the seven-county SE Florida Partnership Executive Committee working on the HUD-funded Seven 50 plan.

His community activities include service on the Board of Governors for Wellington Regional Hospital, SE Florida Alzheimer's Association and the Central Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce.
