Gearing for a Great 2012: PGAL Announces Top-Level Promotions

PGAL is welcoming the new year with an expanded executive management team that reflects the firm's growing diversification and expanding geographic presence.

“In recognition of their hard work and remarkable dedication to PGAL, I have promoted Ken Brown, AIA, to the position of President of PGAL and Jeff Weiner, AIA, to the position of Executive Vice President”, announced Jeff Gerber, AIA, who has since 2003 held the joint title of President and CEO.  He will continue to serve as PGAL's Chief Executive Officer.

“This expansion will allow us to refine our executive decision-making processes while allowing each of us to continue to serve the firm in the capacities that best suit our individual strengths and experience for the benefit of our clients and the firm,” Gerber added.

For example, he said, “Ken Brown will continue to provide the intense, hands-on, personalized client service that has earned him a national reputation for design innovation, initiative and responsiveness, particularly in his specialty field of aviation. As President, Ken will be positioned to foster this level of passion as an integral part of PGAL's corporate culture and mentor younger firm members on the urgency of personalized client service.”

As Executive Vice President, Jeff Weiner will continue to provide design and client  services for the rental car and related transportation industries, but will now also have “greater flexibility to utilize his exceptional marketing skills in other areas,” Gerber noted.  “Jeff Weiner pioneered PGAL's entrance into markets in Panama and Puerto Rico and has the multi-discipline marketing skills needed to continue our expansion into new areas of industry and  other international locations.”

PGAL currently has projects in Brazil, Trinidad, Saudi Arabia and Mexico and opened an office in New Orleans earlier this year, bringing its number of offices to eleven.

Gerber said that as Chief Executive Officer, he will continue his management of the firm's day to day operations, oversee project teams, and lead project design efforts for his many long-term clients.

“Our firm has prospered through the past 65 years because it has consistently refined its structure and fine tuned its management systems in order to anticipate and respond to new challenges and fresh opportunities. We are extremely fortunate to have the depth of talent and dedication that allows us to promote from within at these top levels. These promotions are in keeping with our history and provide an enhanced foundation as we look forward to a prosperous 2012 for our firm and for our clients.”

Founded in 1946 in Houston, PGAL provides architecture, engineering, planning, interior architecture and technology planning services for public and private sector clients nationally and internationally. Specialty areas include aviation, transportation, education, mixed use, parking structures, recreation/cultural facilities and more.
