City of Houston Northline Drive Storm Sewer Design

The City of Houston initiated this project to upgrade the existing thoroughfare and alleviate flooding issues along Northline Drive.

The project presented a number of specific challenges, including the loss of large storage volume in roadside ditches that required filling, and very shallow outfall elevations that required extremely flat storm sewers.

PGAL prepared the complete design for the project, including two large detention ponds totaling approximately 40 acre-feet of storage, collection of extreme event flows, and conveyance to the ponds.

Services Include:

  1. Drainage studies
  2. Preliminary storm sewer design
  3. Complete roadway, drainage, and utility design
  4. Right-of-way plans
