PGAL Alexandria Team Pulls its Weight in Dulles Plane Pull

An 82-ton United Airlines Boeing 737 airplane was no match for a strapping team from PGAL and Turner Construction Company.

As participants in the 2023 Dulles Plane Pull on September 9, they dragged the aircraft 12 feet in just 7 seconds flat, landing them among the fastest of participating teams.

The PGAL–Turner pairing was a logical one, given the firms’ current collaboration on the Tier-Two Concourse East Project at Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD).

Organized and sponsored by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police Department, the plane pull event served as the centerpiece of the Dulles Day Festival. Fundraising proceeds benefit Special Olympics Virginia athletes with intellectual disabilities. Collectively, teams raised $530,000 for this year’s event.
