Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport Consolidated Rental Car Facility (ConRAC) and Bus Maintenance Facility

The Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport selected PGAL as part of the project team to coordinate and program the consolidated rental car facility--the first phase of a seven-year expansion plan for DFW. The 200-acre site serves as DFW's single car rental location, one of the first of its kind in the United States. Working with DFW and the rental car companies, PGAL led the programming efforts that produced a design then turned over to the Airport Authority for implementation. The $152-million, two-story facility provides ready/return parking for over 5,000 vehicles and houses 10 car rental companies. PGAL worked closely with the rental car companies to determine programming requirements and needs for the rental car retail terminal building, ready/ return parking areas, service site areas and passenger loading/ unloading areas. The common bus operation (with an associated maintenance facility) provides connectivity to the terminals at 3-minute intervals, thus providing a high level of customer service to the travelling public.
