Fretz Park Library Celebrates Grand Re-Opening

Congratulations to the City of Dallas, the Dallas Public Library System and PGAL's Dallas office. After a successful bond referendum in 2006, the Fretz Park Branch Library celebrated their grand re-opening on November 13th. The library was originally opened in 1974. The goal of the addition and renovation was to complement the 70's-style architecture with exposed brick, wood structure and extensive daylighting. The PGAL-designed project successfully adds 4,800 SF of program area to the library and its core spaces. The newly renovated library also houses a renovated black box theatre, stack spaces, classrooms, children's area, administrative offices, support spaces, parking lot, and landscaping improvements The project is currently seeking LEED Gold certification.
