SH 249 Tomball Tollway

Tomball Tollway Opens

Phase 1 of the newly constructed SH 249 Tomball Tollway in Northwest Harris County, Precinct 4, opened to traffic last week following a community celebration, including a Stroll the Toll event which allowed the public to walk on the new tollway before it opened to automobiles. The $170M, 6-mile, 6-lane toll road spans from south of FM 2920 to north of Spring Cypress Rd. The tollroad allows users to bypass the delay of 7 traffic stops and provides a much needed alternative to the highly congested SH 249 frontage roads carrying traffic to and from the rapidly developing areas in Northwest Harris and Southwest Montgomery counties.

PGAL served as the prime engineering consultant for Section 1, the southern half of the tollroad, which features 1,740 ft long twin bridge structures over Boudreaux Road and the future Grand Parkway Frontage Roads.
