Oftentimes, “going green” is easy and doesn’t significantly impact the budget. The new PGAL headquarters office building provides a platform to achieve LEED certification utilizing conventional design and construction practices. Building materials of recycled steel and concrete components as well as strategic site orientation were employed. Concrete pads from previous development on the site were reused in the concrete mix. Existing trees were relocated on the site and reforestation of the site will reduce the heat island effect.
